Financing low-income entrepreneurs in eastern Bolivia

Cooperativa Gran Grigota (CGG) is a loan and savings cooperative operating in the eastern Bolivian department of Santa Cruz.

Oikocredit chose to partner with CGG in 2019 as CGG´s target group comprises low-income people in the city of Santa Cruz and outskirts that run micro and small businesses. Oikocredit financing will help the cooperative reach more low-income entrepreneurs.

The cooperative’s loan and saving products for its associate members (individuals and groups) are tailored to meet the needs of the target group: i.e. microcredits for business, housing loans, loans for consumption and village banking (for groups).

The bulk of the portfolio is allocated to urban areas, while women make up more than half the cooperative’s membership.
