Avante is a Brazilian FinTech company that empowers micro-entrepreneurs through financial technology.

The company offers microcredit and an in-app mPOS (mobile point of sale) product and is developing more products, such as internet banking.

Avante operates in 1,100 cities across Brazil and aims to reach one million micro-entrepreneurs by 2021. The company wants to become the leading financial solutions provider for Brazilian micro-businesses by offering respectful, agile and tailor-made services.

In 2018 Oikocredit acquired a stake in Avante. Oikocredit's investment will help the company work towards their goal and make financial services more accessible to entrepreneurs at the base of the pyramid.

Since 2015 the company has been recognised among the Best for the World Companies by B-Lab. In 2017 it received the GSC 3S Awards for Social Impact via Technology Innovation. In 2018 Avante was selected by the World Economic Forum & the IFC as one of the 50 Latin American start-ups shaping the future of the region.

Avante was founded in 2012 and employed 200 people in 2018. The company is headquartered in São Paulo and has an innovation lab in Tel-Aviv.
