Procesadora San Martín de Porres is a medium-sized agrobusiness specialising in tropical fruits and canned products for the export and local market.

The company has more than 30 years’ experience in processing tropical fruits such as papaya, mango and guava. It also cans products such as beans, peas and coconut cream and milk.

Most products are sold on the local market. The agrobusiness purchases its raw materials from micro- and small-scale farmers from all over the country and it also works with various supplier companies. There are two fully equipped processing plants and a laboratory for various types of product analysis.

The company promotes environmentally friendly planting and crop rotation techniques. More than 80% of the raw materials supplied to Procesadora San Martín de Porres come from small-scale farmers in inaccessible rural communities. The farmers benefit by receiving technical assistance and fair prices for their crops.
