ASA International Holding (ASAI) manages one of the world’s largest international microfinance networks, ASA, which provides financial products to low-income micro entrepreneurs, mainly women. It has affiliates in Asia and Africa.

The NGO Association for Social Advancement (ASA) was founded in Bangladesh in 1978 to provide microcredit to the poorest. Its successful grant-free business model was first exported in 2007 to serve more women and impact other developing markets.

The separate entity ASAI, which is funded by various international investors, focuses on managing all investments outside of Bangladesh. ASAI runs microfinance operations in 11 countries in Asia and Africa: Cambodia, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

ASA International Holding has been an Oikocredit partner since 2015.
