SEAP, Self Reliance Economic Advancement Programme
Savings and loans for small enterprises
Self Reliance Economic Advancement Programme (SEAP) is a microfinance institution offering loans to small-scale entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Poverty is still a major problem in Nigeria, with a very high proportion of the population living below the poverty line. There is high demand for financial services at the micro level, for people who do not have access to traditional banking.
SEAP offers loans for different purposes, such as the leasing of equipment, education, and the running of small-to-medium enterprises. The loan product includes modest health insurance.
In addition to the financial products, SEAP has also participated in a rural telephone project, offers a health care programme, and provides scholarships for its members’ children.
SEAP has been an Oikocredit partner since 2013.
