Banco Pyme de la Comunidad is a financial entity created in 1996 as a Private Financial Fund (PFF) offering loans to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the department of Cochabamba. In July 2014, it became an SME bank, and continued working with the same client niche and expanding its operations to the departments of Santa Cruz and La Paz.
Since it launched its activities, Banco Pyme de la Comunidad has offered loans through the individual methodology. The bank runs a network of 14 branches (2017). Most clients are small and medium-sized producers and service providers.
Banco Pyme de la Comunidad’s vision is to become a banking institution with a social and environmental vision that promotes long-term relations with its micro, small and medium clients, through the offer of timely financial products and services.
Banco Pyme de la Comunidad has been an Oikocredit partner since its inception, and Oikocredit is a shareholder in this entity.
