Union des Institutions Mutualistes Communautaires d'Epargne et de Crédit (U-IMCEC) is a regulated microfinance union. The union has its roots in a microcredit programme initiated in 1998 by the NGO Christian Children's Fund Senegal.
U-IMCEC offers individual and group loans, savings products, micro life insurance and money transfers through a network of branches in almost all regions of Senegal - primarily in suburban and rural areas. Thanks to U-IMCEC’s presence in rural areas the union helps to reduce the financial supply gap between urban and rural areas in Senegal.
U-IMCEC, Union des Institutions Mutualistes Communautaires d'Epargne et de Crédit has been an Oikocredit partner since 2006.
